We’ve all heard the stats. Air pollution kills 40,000 a year, and it stunts the development of children’s lungs.
We support the legal challenge, led by ClientEarth, that is going through the courts right now. But we also know that lasting change happens when people come together to demand it.
Our air pollution campaign isn’t an accident. Working with parents in the City of London to find the most important issues to them, we realised that air pollution is a health crisis.
On one estate over 30% of people have respiratory problems. Young parents, like Munsur, refuse to open their windows for fear that their children are being poisoned by the air, and the local primary school Sir John Cass closed the playground three times last year due to high levels of toxic air.
Our children can’t wait for an action plan on air pollution. We Can Win is bringing together parents, schools, doctors and other communities to take action on this health emergency.
